Photography & Image Use

Image Disclaimer

Important information about portfolio examples, image permissions, copyright and private galleries.

Last updated: 13 September 2026

This Image Disclaimer explains how photographs displayed by Zoom Photo Studio should be understood, how commissioned images may be used and how we protect client privacy.

1. Portfolio images are examples

Images shown on this website, in social media, in printed materials or in the studio illustrate Zoom Photo Studio’s photographic style and the types of service we offer. They are examples of previous work, not a guarantee that another session will produce an identical image or result.

Every session is affected by individual appearance, age, movement, expression, clothing, styling, available light, weather, location, cooperation, time and the choices made during editing. We will use reasonable care and skill and work within the style agreed with you, but creative results are necessarily individual.

2. Retouching and presentation

Portfolio and delivered images may be professionally selected, cropped, colour-corrected and retouched. Retouching may include normal adjustments to exposure, colour, contrast, composition and temporary distractions. More substantial alteration is carried out only where it forms part of the agreed service or is separately requested and accepted.

Colours, brightness, sharpness and cropping can vary between screens, browsers, social-media platforms and printed products. Website compression and responsive layouts may also display an image differently from the original high-resolution file.

3. Permission to display client images

We do not treat a booking as automatic permission to publish private commissioned photographs. We use identifiable client images for our public portfolio, website, social media, advertising, exhibitions, competitions or studio samples only where we have an appropriate legal basis and the required written permission.

Permission for promotional use is separate from the photography service. Refusing it will not reduce the quality of the service or change the price you pay.

Where an identifiable child is shown, permission must be provided by a parent or other person with parental responsibility. We will also take account of the child’s wishes and welfare where appropriate.

4. Changing an image-use choice

Where we rely on consent for public or promotional use, you may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing hello@zoomphotostudio.co.uk. Please include enough information to identify the session and image.

We will stop new uses and remove the image from channels under our control where reasonably possible. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful use invalid, and we may be unable to recall printed material already distributed or copies independently shared by other people, but we will take reasonable steps to prevent further use by us.

5. Copyright

Unless a written agreement says otherwise, copyright in photographs created by Zoom Photo Studio remains with Zoom Photo Studio or the photographer. Commissioning or purchasing a photograph does not automatically transfer copyright.

Clients receive the usage licence described in their booking terms. Website visitors must not download, copy, reproduce, alter, republish, sell, train an artificial-intelligence system with, or otherwise exploit images from this website without written permission from the copyright owner.

6. Watermarked previews and private galleries

Watermarked, proof or preview images are supplied for selection only. They are not final purchased files and must not be published, edited, screen-captured, stripped of a watermark or obtained by attempting to bypass website controls.

Client galleries are private. Access links, passwords and downloaded images should be shared only with people authorised by the client. The client is responsible for considering the privacy of every person shown before sharing an image publicly.

7. Third-party and licensed material

Where this website uses a photograph, graphic, typeface or other asset supplied under licence by a third party, ownership remains with the relevant rights holder. Inclusion on our website does not grant visitors permission to reuse it.

8. No endorsement

The appearance of a person, product, venue or brand in an image does not imply that they endorse Zoom Photo Studio, unless we clearly state otherwise. Props, clothing, locations and third-party products may belong to their respective owners.

9. Reporting a concern

If you believe an image has been displayed without appropriate permission, infringes your rights, identifies a child inappropriately or has been incorrectly attributed, please email hello@zoomphotostudio.co.uk. Include the page address, a description of the image and the nature of your concern. We will investigate promptly.

10. Your legal rights

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes rights relating to privacy, data protection, commissioned private and domestic photographs, copyright, consumer protection or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
